University of Kanas recently purchased KUgirls.xxx and KUnurses.xxx which was bit surprising, but there are reasons for that. They did not want anybody to buy those domains and use it for hosting porn sites.
.xxx domains were recently introduced and the main reason for this was to make it easier to filter out domains which are not family friendly. The idea of introducing xxx domains has created some worries for celebrities and reputed brands. Brands like Nike, Pepsi has already purchased these domains before anybody to buy it.
Anybody could register a domain with some celebrities or even reputed brands and host porn content.
The most concerned seem to be colleges as per and most of them are buying these domains before opening to the public. The cost for .xxx domains are roughly US$ 100.00 per year
